My fax has been working properly for quite sometime. Now, all of sudden I tried to fax and when I turned on, I rec'd a prompt, "Fax Failure." I made several updates but nothing seems to work.

I would appreciate it very much if someone knows of a way to solve this problem and would share with me.

Thank you.

Hi and welcome to TSF!

Could you provide us with your system specifications? Make and Model number if it is a mainstream manufacturer.

What application are you using to FAX with?

Have you checked to see if your FAX phone line is working properly?

Have you checked to see if your modem (fax) is working properly? Here is some information on how to check the modem:

Thanks!

First let me start by saying thank you for acknowledging my inquiry.

I have a OfficeJet 4315 All-in-One Printer and a HP Pavilion 774Y Home PC.

I am using the Windows XP software that came with the All-in-One 4300 Series.

The fax phone line and modem are working.

I uninstall and reinstall per instructions of the manual, but continue to get the same error message -- fax failure.

Hi and thanks for the update!

I know this is a pretty simple question, no offense intended, have you tried different fax numbers to make sure that it is not an issue on the receiving end?

Also, could you please go here and make sure you have the latest version of the software and drivers for you printer?

Thanks!
