Unable to control PC volume with bluetooth headset

Somehow I discovered that volume of the Bluetooth headset can be controlled after clicking the mixer button on the sound control curser on the Laptop screen. The new window that appears after clicking the mixer button on Laptop screen, shows individual controls for each device like Bluetooth & all other devices. From there the Bluetooth headset volume can be controlled.
