Toshiba laptop wont startup

Computer wont get past windows start up screen?
But it won't start up all the way.

It's a Toshiba satellite laptop A135
windows Vista

It says your computer was unable to start. Startup repair is checking for problems. But it goes on and on
and it says attempting repairs

Start up repair cannot repair this computer automatically.

If Startup Repair fails, try to restore back to previous restore point. Worse case (but always an option) is to do a reinstall of the operating system. Make sure you have a backup of your important files.
