Toshiba A665 Power problem
Hello all!
My 6 month old Toshiba A665 will not power up. The battery light and plug in (power adapter) flash while the laptop is plugged in, and will not power up. If I try the 45 second power button trick nothing happens, even when the battery is removed. If I try to turn the computer on while the battery is on, it flashes quickly. If I leave the laptop unplugged for one or two days, it appears to charge and it powers on briefly (it makes it to select an operating system on GRUB which is past BIOS). After the brief power on, it begins to flash and refuses to power up again. Is this possible CMOS battery death? or is there something wrong with the AC adapter? or more likely a short?
I should mention that I have replaced the end of the power chord a few months ago, but never had any problems until now. I checked the voltage and it puts out a steady 19 volts like the case says, but I never checked the amps.
Thanks guys - Mat
