OS: windows 7 ultimate



Toshiba Satallite A205-S5000 running on windows 7 ultimate keeps randomly shutting down it doesnt overheat and to be shure i even bought a cooling pad all thats downloaded on it is Eset antivirus and virtual dj nothing else it has no viruses somtimes it will work for a day and sometimes 10 seconds.

I bet on the CPU, but could be many other different things, fauty parts on board, RAM, GPU, etc.. If you don't have parts to test it, i'd recommend you take to a repair shop and get an estimate, with luck, they might tell you what was failing..

It could be any random faulty equipment, as noted by Learn2Day.

It can also be caused by RAM that got unseated by being dropped, or possibly the heatsink that has lifted from the CPU. Even a slight lift can cause it to overheat very quickly, and a cooling pad won't fix that.

If you have no knowledge on fixing a laptop, I do suggest maybe considering taking it to a repair shop, and have them run diagnostics on it.
