Hello all,

Recently, a relative of mine gave away three of his "old" computers to me (2 desktops and a laptop) because they didn't work anymore. The laptop, a Toshiba Satellite L15-S104, seemed to be in near perfect condition. But when I tried to boot it up, I got a message saying "operating system not found." When I asked my relative what he'd done to it before it stopped working, he said he might've downloaded a virus or something. Anyway, my first idea was to run a recovery cd to reinstall the OS, but he lost that. I'm not at all computer savvy, so I've completely run out of other ideas. Anyone know what I should do?

All help is greatly appreciated!!

Hi,

i guess you have no other choice but to do a fresh install of the operating system (i.e. XP, etc.). Start with this first as this is easier to do.

if you do not have the XP CD to use, try Linux. if you want to use XP, then I suggest you get/buy one from your favorite computer store.
