so i was trying to clean my laptop's fan but the screws for the cover is stuck. i tried unscrewing them but they just wont come out. it's not like it's not unscrewable. the screws get loose but they just sit there and won't come off. i hope im making sense.
any idea what i should do? tried peeling them off but that doesn't work
For years the mantra has been "don't let a magnet get near your computer". Only internal cables can be affected. A weak magnet should solve your problem.
I use a magnetic screwdriver, and have never had an issue with it, but then I never touch it to the internal components.
If all else fails, turn the laptop upside down carefully, and tap.
Aww yeah i finally got the cover out. apparently it's one of those screw in which you can't remove. all i did was to peel the cover off. and that was only the cover for the hard drive and graphics card. i couldn't get the entire base/bottom cover to come off although i've remove all the screws. somehow the monitor/screen lid is screwed together with the base/bottom -_-
once the small covers are taken off the base, you will see screws inside with a picture of a keyboard etc beside them, they need to be taken out also, the keyboard can then be lifted up gently, while taking care to remove the ribbon cable from the motherboard underneath it.
