Laptop makes SCREECHING NOISE

Every time I touch a certain spot on my laptop, it makes this loud, high-pitched screeching sound. Normally I just wouldn't touch it, but it's right in front of my keyboard-area and my wrists fall there naturally when I type. What's causing it and how can I fix it?

Laptop is a one-year-old Sager. Specs available upon request.

Oh yeah. It sounds like the computer's internal speakers are making the noise--there's a bit of speaker-static when the screech goes off a lot of the time. However, I disabled all speakers except my headphones and it still happens.

It started earlier today, when I plugged in my new Logitech USB-powered headphones. I don't think it was that, though.

Never mind, I seem to have fixed it.

See, somehow the computer settings were set so that the laptop's internal microphone would record noise and then play it back all the time.
