on my dell inspiration laptop running win xp, my function key (fn) is working in reverse.
it works as if it is pressed in all the time and to get the correct key use e.g. the letter on the key , i have to hold down the fn key
if any body has any ideas how to clear thisd porblem i would be much appriciated

many thanks for that as i said it is a second hand machine so no operating instructions
but after your help i checked all the keys and found the pad lock key was on
once i repressed it the keys all worked correctly.
