Ok, my issue is this I had to replace my inverter but not sure if that was my issue with the flicker screen and horizontal lines. The issue as gotten worse since I had my inverter replaced. I am wondering is it my LCD screen?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1300, windows XP(home edition). The person who replaced the parts I bought (spent under 30 for all 4 needed(which included new internal fan, inverter, CMOS battery and keyboard)). This person put everything back together and was fine, but for some reason have the issue I had before they were replaced. It is not fun having to take every thing apart just to fix the internal fan.

Also another question Can anyone tell me where I can find a replacement ribbon for touch pad mouse? Mine no longer works and need to replace it.

You flickering can be either GPU, cable or screen. The best way to verify which, is to test a different screen on the laptop. No easy thing if you're not a repair shop. And to buy a screen without confirmation could be very expensive, specially if the problem is not there..

Good luck.

The thing is I don't have no other screen to be able to test on, also when it started this morning it had areas on my screen that was white. Also all I did was adjust my screen and it went to show my background.

Where exactly are adjusting the screen? In the hinges or on the screen borders?

I move the screen back and forwards to clear it up the best I can. I have tried holding the sides to clear it up but does no good.

Dismantle it and check the cable and the connectors, by your description, it should be the cable.

That link did not help me what so ever, the instructions to get at the display made no sense, why have to take everything off to get to it when it don't take that much to get to it? Also it more likely my screen since when I start it starts going white and have to move screen to make it clear and at moment no way of getting a new one.

That points to the cable, not the screen, but if you feel you know best without confirmation, more power to you...
The link is for the official service guide, if the absolute correct procedure to take apart without damaging any parts, and i can't really see how can you reach the cable without those instructions.
But it seems you're better of without our help...

Please mark thread as solved in thread tools above when you're done fixing the laptop.
Good luck.

I think you may be rushing at things the link has the proper procedure to allow you access to any part of the laptop,if you skip steps or ignore the proper procedures you will cause yourself more issues, troubleshooting and disassembly of laptops are a marathon not a sprint and extreme caution and gentle handling is required,if you fail to understand a step it is wise to stop and re-read the information as many times as it takes for you to understand.Cutting corners will cost you money but the choice is yours.we can only give you the info and advice what you decide to do with it is in your hands
