sometimes a drop will loosen drives and memory. try taking out the harddrive and reinsert it. Do the same with the ram.

I am not sure what is the hdd or where it is can you try to tell me what it looks like or where it is my computer loads but tells me it can not connect to windows it takes long to load but it will not do certain things I get as far as the last thing I was doing but the window will not load it keeps telling me a script has stopped to continue or stop the script, if I try to click on things I have to hit the enter button several times and then wait till it responds

If it was dropped while it was working, possible scratched the disk in the hard drive.

it was dropped while I was on the net but not with a disk in the hard drive it was only dropped from about a foot off the ground but I guess it fell harder than I thought when it fell it still had the same screen on it when I came back and went to go back on the net it would not respond at 1st but as I said when the computer starts it says that the computer can not connect to windows I just really need to get my laptop working again for as little as possible and soon am going crazy with out a full size laptop

We mean the hard drive has most likely been damaged in some way due to you dropping the laptop. You are probably going to have to replace it. Depending on how far it fell and angle.

You should be able to replace it with any SATA 3GBPS hard drive. You will have to reinstall windows, drivers, updates, programs from scratch again, So if you don't feel you can, take it to a local repair shop.

Sorry if I'm intruding in a very assertive way.
boopy, by reading your posts i think you're not qualified to repair it yourself as you have no idea what you're doing or why. You're blind guessing repairs.. That's no way to diagnose and you will probably over spend in unnecessary parts or further damage the laptop.
Take it to a repair shop, instead of blind guessing, or read allot more to understand what you're doing.

Hope you appreciate the honesty. Cheerio.

thank you for your response but I think I did mention that I am not really knowledgeable on computer repairs but I have done a few fixes if I feel I can't do it I would definitely let a computer tech do it but sometimes the only way to learn is to try yourself but as I said thank you anyway

Hey, like i said, just being direct with you.
If you're not able to identify memories, cards, CPU, GPU, and even mistake a optical drive with a hard drive, you need to read more, google, google pictures, read manuals, etc.. or take it to someone who knows.

Good luck.

P.S. - Nice link sobeit

ok now it seems that my laptop needed sometime to get over the shock of being dropped because it seems that it is going back to almost normal, I am able to sign on and get on the net the problem is that it does not seem to be able to get back to its speed it is loading very slowly and takes time to open windows like more than 30 sec or a min. Would like to know what is the best first of all anti virus I can down load for now and then I would like to know how to fix the problem of it loading slow from the drop

I personally use AVG, They have a free version as well!.

I would suggest you start backing up your files NOW as this may be a sign of your Hard drive failing or getting prepared to fail.

Thanks,
Altie

Long load times can be a sign of Hard drive failure so i suggest you start backing up your drive.

May i suggest you try to check for corrupt data:

Open your start bar and type cmd (Right click "command prompt" and select run as admin) Once the command prompt type in "chkdsk /r".

After that do the same as suggested but this time type in "sfc /scannow".

If your laptop does not speed up after that, as i said above start backing up your data.
