I have a compaq presario cq50 and have had it for almost two years now with little to no issues.

Today my wireless decided to conk out on me and state that it was getting limited connectivity and not hooked up to the internet after being on it for only a few hours today. My desktop is still connected to the internet (desktop is XP) and all my routers and whatnot are working and blinking fine.

I've done the 'diagnose' and told it to try all the options but now I only get the net if I hook myself directly to the router with the cable.

Yes, my wireless button is on (it glows blue) and I've tried what seems like everything, my laptop was not over heating when this happened either, I use a cooling pad.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Reset the router. Are other wireless PC's able to connect?

The desktop pc is using a wireless usb and is working perfectly, and the laptop has limited connectivity. Local access. So, just to make sure, should I reset my router?

Nevermind, reset the router this morning when even the desktop suddenly had the same thing.

Any idea why this happened so I know in the future to prevent it?

If the problem continues to happen you can check for a firmware update

for the router.
