CD Drive does not initialize Acer 5100

Suddenly, my CD drive does not recognize any DVD, music CD, or CD software program.
No search I do in my system will bring up CD Drive and it is missing from My Computer. Did it somehow get 'uninstalled' or . . .

Check Device Manager to see if the drive recognized.

If listed in Device Manager uninstall the drive and then restart Windows.

If still having issue remove the filters following the instructions in the article below.
