BCCode 50 Bsod

Hi. I am getting a lot of Bsods lately and random restart. I cannot get pass the login screen without freezing or auto restarting. I took me 5 hours to get pass the lOgin screen but froze right after I logged in. I reformatted and reinstalled 2 times and the same thing happens. I did a memory check and it didn't show up with any errors at all. All the drivers are updated and fine. I have a HP dm4 1063cl. I cannot afford another laptop since I am only a college student. So if there is any suggestions, please post them. Thanks.

EDIT: Sorry, just saw the format now and I was posting on an ipod. I'm posting on my roommate's computer now.

· OS - Vista/ Windows 7 ? Windows 7
· x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64 Bit
· What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7
· Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? OEM version
· Age of system (hardware) 1 year, 5 months old
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? I used the recovery partition provided by HP computers.

· CPU Intel i5 430 @ 2.27 GHz
· Video Card ATI Mobility Radeon 5450
· MotherBoard I do not know what the motherboard is.
· Power Supply - I do not know what battery it is.

· System Manufacturer - HP
· Exact model number - HP DM4 1063cl

Bump, any ideas? I reformatted it but the BSOD is still going. I see BSODS F4, A, and 50. I occasionally get F4's and A's but I get 50 about 6 times a day.

Have you ran a mem test as well as a hard drive test?

Yes. I ran Memory Diagnostic Test, memtest, ChkDsk, and the Hard drive error checking in the properties.

I have also attached my minidump files if that is any help.

This is getting annoying. Any suggestions?

Have you tried safe mode?

If you don't know how to get into safe mode:

Reboot computer, start tapping F8 repeatedly keep tapping it and it will bring you to a black screen with some options, select safe mode using the arrow keys and press enter.

If it works in safe mode you probably have a driver issue.

(I can't look at the dump files as I am currently using the iPhone app and don't have a computer near me at the moment).

See if that helps.

Testing it out right now. I post if I receive any BSODs. Thank you for your help.

I think I found out the problem. I think it is the Intel HD 3000 graphics driver problem. I uninstalled it and no BSODs appear. But I cannot use my ATI 5450 graphics. I updated to latest and the screen is black, except when I go to safe mode, any ideas about that?

Re: BCCode 50 Bsod

did you get the driver from the hp d/load page for your laptop

in the device manager uninstall the video card
reboot tapping f8 and choose low resolution mode
when windows finishes rebooting
disable a/virus
install your drivers
reboot the computer

this is the amd driver

Re: BCCode 50 Bsod

I got the driver from Intel's driver page.

Just tried that to do that right now. But when I reboot, I still get the black screen. The black screen as in, the monitor is completely black and OFF. There isn't an backlight. Any suggestions?

P.S. I also tried to install an older driver and still doesn't work.

Re: BCCode 50 Bsod

Installed the AMD video chip. Thank you.

But the monitor is completely black and I don't see anything. I don't even think the screen is on since there's no backlight.

Re: BCCode 50 Bsod

that indicates the video chip is most likely gone

usually means new m/board

Re: BCCode 50 Bsod

Hmm, does this mean I have to purchase a new laptop? I just purchased this computer a year ago and never did any overclocking.
