Hello riolaw,

That message is an indication that your battery is broken. It shouldn't affect your computer except for the fact you will need the computer plugged in at all times because the battery will drain quickly.

Could I get the brand and model of your lappy?

The brand of your laptop will be somewhere on the laptop.

HP, Compaq, Asus, Acer, Toshiba, Packard Bell, Medion, MSI, Sony, etc...

The model is usually found on the bottom of the laptop on a tag.

You need to remove the battery and there is a label on the hidden side that gives all the necessary battery info.

Thank you. So far I have found a 12 cell battery located in the UK, but it is generic...

Not too happy about that. You could look as well, just cross reference the numbers you gave me, it will give you a plethora of results. I am sorry I couldn't find something definitive.

I don't know the cost for Singapore, but online, you should be able to get a good one for less than $70USD, give or take. If I find a great deal that won't cost an arm and a leg to ship to Singapore I will let you know.

I have been doing a little research on your problem here. According to your models service manual, the 6 Cell 4400mAh battery is the only one that works with your laptop.

For your reference. I cannot

ACER Part # BT.00603.041 (BATTERY LI-ION 6CELL 4.4KMAH SANYO SA 3S2P)

I cannot find a replacement in the ACER store.

The only BBB accredited place I could find your battery is buy.com

Here is an eBay search

Here is the cheapest I found through Amazon.com.

All of the above are generic/replacement batteries. I have had mixed success with using them. You may be able to find some better deals closer to home, easier than I can.
