Averatec laptop

I just bought a Averatec laptop at a yardsale for $10.00. I've never heard of it; anyone know about them? I got it so cheap because owner lost power cord. I don't know if it works, but it's got a Pentium 4 processor- 60 gb hdd- ati radeon 9600,etc. Anyone know where to get a cord pretty cheap so I can see if it's any good. I don,t think I went wrong for the money I paid.

Re: Averatec laptop

Hello meager and welcome to TSF,

Somewhere on the laptop should be a label with the model number. Please let us know it so we can provide the proper advice.

Re: Averatec laptop

Easy way to test it is to take it to a Best Buy, if they have a Geek Sqaud Department most times there will be a pile of AC adaptors they use to test Laptops / Netbooks. If that falls though try a local PC repair place call them up and see if they have one for testing purposes... Don't spend money and time on something when you can get it for free
