Advent 6651 running very slow/freezing

Hi all, My laptop has begun to run really slowly, i have tried all the normal stuff ie disk cleanup, defrag etc, but to no avail so i decided to re-format the hardrive and start from new, unfortunatey this has still had no impact, start up and shut down takes forever and running programs is near on impossible, please help, here is some info about laptop you may find useful:

OS: Windows 7x64 Ulti



Have you checked the Hard Drive itself, any diagonostics that you can run on the drive and see the results... this is the first thing I would do given the stated issues.

I've done all i can think of, gonna send it away for repair before i shoot it, will post on here if i find out what os wrong with it, thanks for your reply though :)
