Re: acer touchpad

hi spifff2003,

Welcome to TSF!,

About your problem... is the symptom intermittent? does it happen every time you power it ON? what actions/steps did you take to make it work again (even how temporary)?

Please post screen shot of ADD/REMOVE programs and Device Manager when it happens.

Re: acer touchpad

thanks for the quick response! well it pretty much doesn't respond to taps about 80% of the time i can move the cursor around with no problems it just doesn't seem to recognize the taps. once in a while when i power it up the touchpad works the way it should but that is only 20% or so of the time. then when it is shut down it goes back to not working the next time i fire it up.

Re: acer touchpad

hmmm, it looks mechanical to me than drivers/Windows related.

just for testing, run a linux live CD or an XP live CD (BART PE) and see if it responds the behaves the same way. if it does, consider replacement of touchpad (or may be the palmrest bezel if touchpad is part of this assembly).
