Confused

The on-off switch on my Acer aspire 5735Z laptop is working hardly anymore. When I try to switch the laptop on I have to repeat pressing the switch an increasing number of times. Is this a hardware issue or can there be software issues as well? The laptop is only 2 years old.
Thanks for your help.

My System

hello i would think it is going to be a hardware issue than a software issue since it is not powered up when you push the buttton. the contacts on the switch could be dirty or not making good contact with each other.

Hello,
That's what I was thinking too. It's hard to get to this switch, but I will try. Thanks.

Hi,

I think I have the same problem. I have to keep wiggling the switch until it finally makes contact. did you mange to fix it? is it an expensive repair?

Many thanks
