I've been having issues getting my computer to boot up over the last two weeks or so.
Initially it would have problems waking up after it went into sleep mode, and I would have to hold down the power button and do a complete restart. Then all of a sudden, it wouldn't boot up at all. The fan would turn on for a few seconds like normal (LED's on) and then it would slow down and wouldn't boot up any further and the screen would stay completely black.
I troubleshooted a bit and disconnected the DVD drive and that finally got it to boot back up again - but the boot up issue STILL persists. I've tried disconnecting everything I can and resetting it and I can't pinpoint what exactly the issue is. Sometimes its disconnecting the DVD drive that seems to fix it, other times its resetting the RAM and HDD, and sometimes its just popping the keyboard off that seems to get it booted up.
I'm wondering if this is a symptom of the motherboard needing replacement, or if something else is going on??? I'm at a loss. Thanks!
