Trojan horse FakeAV.POV has hijacked my wireless USB adapter

My AVG antivirus software hase discovered this virus but is unable to remove it. I have since moved my computer so I can wire it directly to my router. I was still unable to connect to the internet until I changed some settings and now I am able to connect but the virus is still present. I ran malwarbytes but it didn't detect an infection. I don't know what to do to get rid of this infection...please help.

Hello and welcome to TSF.

We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link given below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a

link at the top of each page.

Please follow our pre-posting process outlined below. Use a USB flash drive to download and transfer the tools to the affected machine, if necessary. You might like to run the Flash_Disinfector.exe on the clean machine and the flash drive first to protect against any possible transfer of infection via USB.
