Hi, everyone!

This is my first post here. From what I've read, you all are very intelligent and helpful. I'm hoping you all can help me with this!

I visited a website today that I've had previous issues with. After visiting it, I tend to receive a "rogue virus," causing fake virus alerts to pop up on my computer. Previously, I have been able to restore my computer to a previous time and the problem disappears; however, when I attempted to restore today, it repeatedly told me that restore could not be completed.

I did some research and ran across a tech site claiming that to get rid of the virus, I needed to type in an activation code (since the virus asks for one) and that would allow me to open up my browser and download new virus software (the virus prevented me from opening any pages on my browser). The site provided a code, which I typed in, and suddenly the alerts stopped invading my computer. I downloaded new software: Advanced SystemCare and Malwarebytes. I updated and ran them both. They cleaned off a LOT; however, after that, I noticed the browser-redirecting malware problem. My browser now redirects whenever I search for something and click on a result. It redirects to different pages, but then I do receive the same two pop up pages.

I have spent over 6 hours attempting to clean this off and am quite concerned that I'm still have a problem with it. I work from this computer and have a large amount of work to complete by the end of the week. I'm hesitant to log into work because I don't want my password or identification stolen.

Any help to make sure the rogue virus is gone and to remove the malware would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you so very much!

I am helping my brother's friend who's PC has been infected with the Windows Recovery Virus. I ran Malwarebytes numerous times. Each time it finds the virus and "removes" it but yet after every restart the virus is still there. I would have tried Combofix, but apparently it doesn't like the version...

.dll files missing, browser opens new tabs, google search redirects.
Hello, I'm a complete computer novice, but I know things are not right. At startup I get two pop-ups stating some .dll files are missing. I've googled these files and only got a couple of hits, it seems they're some kind of virus. My browser also opens up new tabs on it's own, and google search...

Browser Redirect Issue
I have been having an issue with both IE and Firefox redirecting Google search results a majority of the time. I had done a scan with Spybot Search & Destroy prior to posting here and "Fraud.WindowsProtectionSuite" (15 entries) and "Microsoft.Windows.RedirectedHosts" (3 entries) were the only...
