Hey guys

I need help here with this vista basic 32 dell insperion laptop, a friend of mine fell for a fake anti virus programe called touch point. Welol I got passed the fake scan and installed malwarebytes and did the up date and scanned in safe mode. After a while tough point was gone and so were the dialog boxes asking to buy the full version of the program. Now I am able to run the pc but every time it loads up or boots I get this error message saying "ie3sh.exe can't locate the file BHO.DLL and has to shut down. I ran the scans as asked of me by geekgirl and I am posting them as reqired.

So the things I did do so far is , installed malwarebytes and updates and ran a scan.
I took out the anti-virus program they had called avg and installed mse the logs are provided in the zip scresults.

Hi, Dblanchard1278.

Please subscribe to this thread to get immediate notification of replies as soon as they are posted. To do this click Thread Tools, then click Subscribe to this Thread. Make sure it is set to Instant Notification, then click Subscribe.

Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix.

It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please note that these fixes are not instantaneous. Most infections require more than one round to properly eradicate.

Stay with me until given the 'all clear' even if symptoms diminish. Lack of symptoms does not always mean the job is complete.

Kindly follow my instructions and please do no fixing on your own or running of scanners unless requested by me or another helper at this forum.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  1. Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

    Link 1
    Link 2

    * IMPORTANT !!! Place ComboFix.exe on your Desktop
  2. Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with ComboFix.

You can get help on disabling your protection programs here
  3. Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

  4. Your desktop may go blank. This is normal. It will return when ComboFix is done. ComboFix may reboot your machine. This is normal.
  5. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6. Ensure your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications are re-enabled.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm having problems running the program, every version I try says it's a corrupt download. I'll try to down load to a flash drive from another comp.

Is this a message from Windows, or from ComboFix?

OK, thanks. Yes, try a new download from a different machine. Also ensure ALL security apps are disabled when you run it.

Show me the log from ComboFix, please. C:\ComboFix.txt
