Hello,

This happens to me very often while using Mozilla Firefox:

It pops up and says that I wanted to open "st." The only clue I can get from it is that it might have to do with internet ads? Also, I use Windows XP Pro SP2.

Any help would be great to get rid of the annoyance. =)

Thank you

I recently downloaded Firefox Mozilla and keep getting the same message as the one above - what is the answer to getting rid of this really annoying message? Is it a virus???? Hopefully not as I have antivirus software running. Look forward to a 'quick fix' reply! Thanks in anticipation ....

You can add a line to your HOSTS file to stop it trying to load the ads.The Hosts file is found in :\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\ - Open the Hosts file with Notepad. the line to add is:
127.0.0.1 ad.yieldmanager.com
right click the Hosts file and uncheck Read Only and save the file.

Thanks for the reply Spike. Believe it or not the annoying message has suddenly stopped appearing so I haven't had to add the line that you suggested! (Murphy's Law?) It was popping up every minute or so until today so not too sure what stopped it! If it starts up again I'll definitely have a go with your suggestion. I appreciate your quick response.
