Hello,

Well as I bought a laptop '2 years ago' and tried to install "Windows XP" on it; but it didn't work :( :( :(
Why? No Idea; so after trying for months I got tired and left it; but today as I came on this web site and saw some really good 'professionals' here so I thought why not to discuss this problem with you people here??

When I insert the bootable CD; it works quite nice; it loads all the 'drivers' that setup normally does in the beggining. And finaly it says "Windows Setup is Starting UP" and after that BOOM Suddenly black screen and then the blue screen :

At that time; someone suggested me that it's not working because I have a 320GB Hard Disk and it is not compatible with the 'XP'; but I never understood this theory.

Please have a look on this problem and suggest me the best possibility; I am using Windows 7 but would love to Install XP to see how 'my' laptop runs 'xp' and also to run games such as "Need for Speed Shift" which doesn't work on my 'windows 7 64 bit'.

Thanks a lot;

Faisal.

It's the same issue I had and continue to have. The XP installer doesn't come with standard SATA drivers and is therefore incompatible with most newer systems. You'll have to try making a custom installation CD or loading your driver manually to install it: Install Windows XP on SATA without a Floppy (F6) - Softpedia

I myself haven't gotten it to work, but i haven't spent much time on it either. Best of luck to you.
