Do you have anything plugged into the pc like a USB device? If so try unplugging it. To get into safe mode start tapping F8 as soon as you see your PC name logo. IN the options screen select "Safe Mode with Networking"

If you can get into safe mode with networking follow this.

Download these 2 files; save both to My Documents folder - 1. Microsoft SysInternals AutoRuns - http://live.sysinternals.com/autoruns.exe 2. System file collection app - http://sysnative.com/0x8/BSOD_XP_v1.3_jcgriff2_PROD_.exe Go to My Documents folder and run #2. It will run #1. Output = newly created folder in My Docs - TSF_XP_Support Zip up the entire folder and attach to next post. Also - - Run Speccy - Download Speccy 1.11.256 - FileHippo.com - "File" | "Publish Snapshot" | Paste URL into your next post - Run - http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f10/systeminfo-exe-on-xp-home-561666.html#post3191462

XP does not have native SATA drivers and it will not find your SATA HDD unless you install SATA drivers from the computer/motherboard manufacturer.
You can boot into Setup (Bios) go to SATA or HDD Mode and change it from AHCI to IDE or Compatibility Mode.

Use your arrow key to Highlight the On-Chip SATA mode and press Enter, Is there an option to change it to IDE or Compatibility mode? Other then that, you can download the SATA driver from your motherboard/computer manufacturers Support/Download Drivers site and you can Slipstream it into your XP CD using nLite maxEasyGuide: A) Slipstreaming SATA driver into WinXp boot cd using nLite
