Ok... I was trying Windows Live Onecare and didnt care for it so I removed it using Add\Remove but it didnt work COMPLETELY AND its holding me up. I was told to try several different things. I tried the Onecare removal tool, then I tried the Windows Installer cleanup program, But everytime I startup my PC it says that Windows Live Onecare is not working. See... I was able to remove it BUT it left fragments of its firewall. Im running AVG free and Spybot so Im not worried there. BUT I want to install a different firewall but I cant until I remove that one. Ive tried the Windows Live Onecare Firewall repair tool and it says that it cant repair cause it was unable to find firewall engine MSI. Ive managed to fix everything on here but this. I discovered more about this when I was trying out some new (to_me) software....... a bunch of stuff was addressed concerning Onecare and my firewall. Says Im at risk but Im running AVG sooo.... I was gonna try another firewall BUT...... I cant.

Is there someone out there who can help me. All my other threads are pretty much unanswered yet resolved.

THIS IS MY ONLY PROBLEM LEFT!!!!

Ummm..... not sure.... but I just tried it and it didnt work. Im not sure whats going on. System Mechanic says that the Onecare firewall is installed but may not be active or running and the popup at the bottomright of my screen came up when I tried your tool and said that the onecare firewall is turned off. I dont get any of this cause I uninstalled Onecare months ago. I reinstalled and removed it again.... tried all these tools and still.... the problem remains. Its messin with my actual firewall. Ive ran searches and checked my add\remove and I cant find it. :4-dontkno :sigh:

Do I maybe have to go deeper and delete a file somewhere?????

What if tried Hijack This???? Hows that work????

Try doing a system restore to a couple of days before you installed one care and that should solve the problem.

Its an HP pavilion 750n...... my cousin has a operating systems disc for me but itll be Christmas before I see that. Sorry I didnt answer you better last time you asked me what my PC was.

Im only having the two issues..... my firewall and Dr Watson keeps messin with me. If I had the cash Id just go buy a new tower.

Dr Watson is a chump who Im hoping Microsoft will take care of But this firewall issue is a problem.

To hell with all!!!!! I just ordered the disc with the thirty bucks that I dont have..... I got 20 days to wait. If it doesnt work which I know it will then Ill be back in twenty days or so..... Time to blow the firewall & Dr Watson right out of the water. NOOWW I get to go make a bunch of backups!!!!! Wiiiiii!!!!!!!!!
