Win XP verus Win 7

I bought a Lenovo ThinkCentre that came with (UGH) Win 7 loaded and 2 XP disks. No where in any pamplet they sent does int say How to put WIN XP(Hooray) on this thing. I put the Win XP disk in the DVD Drive and booter the Computer but notjing Happens. Can anyone tell me how to unravel this mstery ?The unit looks great but I can't use WIN 7.!!

Is the XP disk an "Upgrade" CD ?

I downgraded a Lenovo to XP (from Vista) and there was a problem with the HD not being recognized by the XP Installation software. I had to go into the BIOS and change the SATA drive setting AHCI to ATA or IDE (can't remember which).

You should find documentation for downgrades to XP by Googling the model of the laptop, plus the text "downgrade", "XP", etc...
