From time to time I try to delete a file or folder and I get an error that says " Error Deleting File or Folder, Cannot remove folder "xxx": It is being used by another person or program." Is there any way to find out what "person or program" windows thinks is using the folder or file I'm trying to delete?

...can this be caused by someone hacking into my computer?

My System

Hi and welcome to TSF.

Usually the 'other person' is actually the Operating System. It may well be accessing, or trying to access the file you want to delete. Often a simple boot to Safe Mode and deletion from there will solve the problem.

Unlocker is a useful small programme that can delete files, even if you get that message.
