Okay, I was writing a very long piece of writing, and I saved it. Then, I used the same document for the next piece of writing, whichwas also long. I went to save it, and I saved OVER the old one! I was using Works Word Processor, and I NEED that document, very quickly.
Well ... it's a long shot ... BUT, if you haven't closed the document, start clicking the UNDO button .. Maybe, just maybe, you'll get back to the point where you started overwriting ...
Do a search for any WBK files. If you had auto-backup enabled, it should have made a backup (filename.WBK) at the same time as you saved the original document.

Bummer I hate it when I do that, Chevy is right but only if you have not closed it and If you are allowed that many undo's. As to a backup in a tmp file, if you have auto save on it saves at 10 min interval as a tmp and it was a long doc (more than the ten Min) it is gone even in the tmp file. :sayno:
Tools , options, save you will find save auto recovery info every (dropdown menu) min. :sayyes:
