Still an unknown device in the device manager under network adapters.
Couldn't figure out the Unknown device identifier program, and there is no vendor or device id !
Under the device instance id, it says "root\ms_pschedmp\0002"
i googled it but didn't find much information.
I tried to update with my driver cd but it couldn't find the driver either.
have you tried just removing or uninstalling it in device manager to see if it comes back at reboot? does the network adapter work ? what is your computer make and model or motherboard make and model?
Hi there,
thanks for your help. I just tried uninstalling it, and it said failure to uninstall the device. The device may be required to boot up the computer.
I'm not sure what you mean by network adapter. Here's a screenshot showing my other network adapters.
i use wifi, and I just got the driver for my LAN port(?) and I tried it and that did work. But unfortunately it didn't fix the unknown device... I don't know what else there is!
as for my computer, I have a dell latitude d630 laptop.
Also, not sure if this will help but it's a weird tidbit. When i was looking for device drivers for this computer (I got it as a hand me down and reinstalled windows) on google and the dell website, they listed the devices wrong! I couldn't find the correct drivers on any website, and i saw other people online were in the same boat as me. It took me forever to track down the actual disk and get the correct drivers, I hope this doesn't affect anybody's answers to help me!
I used the disk and installed everything that showed the device found on my computer, but even some things weren't necessarily listed as found on my computer. I'm about to go down the list and install everything until one works.... :sigh:
now ,,,i am guessing the unknown device is the modem and it does not have the proper driver installed yet.....go to the below webpage for the modem driver,,,,,its probably the conexant driver under communications.
I downloaded the driver and installed it and everything, (it came up as upgrade) but it didn't seem to do the job. In my device manager, this driver came up under Modems, not Network Adapters.
bummer the unknown device is still present sorry I did not see you already had Modems listed in your device manager listing....sent you down the wrong trail....hmm there are lots of other device drivers listed under network adapters under the drivers page for your model dell however...maybe one of them will work on the other hand I think there is a scan for problems link on that page too so give it a go..and see if the Dell diagnostics tools can help solve this problem...you already have the right drivers loaded for the firewire adapter 1394 so not sure what it could be..
thanks for your help!i downloaded unknown device identifier... do you know how to work that?
it just came up with a huge list of devices..... confusing me
