Hopefully this is the right place for this...
My family recently (about 6 months ago) purchased a Compaq presario desktop, something i advised against knowing the problems of my presario notebook. But since no one listens to the kid they went ahead and purchased it. But i digress
the reason i am here is that about 3 days ago we awoke to see the desktop displaying only a black screen with a bunch of jargon no one understands, the one thing we do understand, however, is the flashing warning that a hard disk failure may be imminent and that we should replace it. Pressing f2 takes me to a screen that gives a few options for starting, safe mode, last known good config. and start windows normally. None of these options work. Occasionally it will shut off, and then start back up again.
