Mistake

This is the pop up that i recieve about every 8 seconds

C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS:0537 IP:ffe0 OP:fe ff 1e 09 ae Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
It then asks me to 'Close' or 'Ignore'

I have no idea how to fix this problem because I am not very good with computer trouble shooting. If anyone knows how to fix this, please tell me.

Thank you

Make sure that you View all HIDDEN files in explorer (Folder options/view settings)

- See in C:\windows\system32 if you have the files cmd.com and regedit.com

- the original files from Windows are cmd.exe and regedit.exe not .com

- delete cmd.com and regedit.com files as they are not required

- make sure that you have the .exe files.

there is a chance of virus infection.so use a popular "updated" antivirus.if this dont help
try using the hijackthis log as mentioned here http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...sting-log.html
