Hi everyone,
This one has really got me stumped, and even worse, I need this stuff installed ASAP!

So yesterday I formatted/install windows xp pro sp2, I did my usual thing, windows updates, firefox, skype etc.. etc..

I then tried to install MS Office 2007 Enterprise. I (still do) recieved the following error message, "Setup cannot find Office.en-us\dwtrig20.exe. Browse to a valid installation source, and then click OK", allowing me to browse for dwtrig20.exe.

dwtrig20.exe IS THERE, the installation works perfectly on another machine of mine!

I then tried to install MS Visual Studio 2008 Pro, this time, i received an error while trying to install Visual Studio. It failed while installing "Visual Studio Web Authoring Component". I extracted this component and attempted to install it 'on its own' and it failed.

I have done some reading and apparently these issues ARE related.

IIS is uninstalled.
Windows Updates are ON.

I'm using a Dell Latitude D820, all the programs I'm installing are legitimate.

I have already reformatted 3 times, the error persists...

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks in advance

I would say that the Office disk is corrupted - can you get a replacement? Perhaps try downloading the trial from the microsoft website and use your product key on that to upgrade it to the full version.

As for Visual Studio, the only time I tried to install it, it failed due to the video card in the machine not being good enough - perhaps try an older version?

1. The office disk I burned from an image, its perfect, installs on another machine.

2. VS was previously installed on this machine before the first format...

Thanx for the speedy reply

Well I must be so good that your computer knew it better work for you or I would be banging at its door......

People have been having trouble with Skype version 3.8.0.139. They have been resolving it by downgrading to a 2.5XXX version

Whatever worked for you, I am glad you got it resolved
