[SOLVED] Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area 0x9bbaa945 ??

Hello all folks on techsupport.

I thought i might get some help for my problem here, since no site what so ever got any information on my bsod error.

The computer is my sistes, so i dont know when the problem occurred first time. But i am sure she havnt installed new hardware or software.

Computer specs.

Acer Aspire 9300
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
AMD Turion64 processor
Nvidia gefore go 7600

Every time the computer starts, 10 seconds into loading the desktop, this blue screen appears.

If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Every time i restart the computer, it runs checkdisk and dosnt report anything. Same thing happens again with blue screen.
Upon trying to do Safe-Mode it hangs on agpCPQ.sys , but if i wait for around 20 minutes i get to the select user-screen for safe-mode, and the rest continues smoothly.

Safe-mode works fine, but cant realy use it for anything. Upon next restart same thing happens with another blue screen upon desktop load.

Anyone got a solution for this? I would be very happy.

If any more information is needed, just say so.

In Safe Mode, check Device Manager for flagged devices & report them here. Be sure to check "show hidden devices".

Check Event Viewer & look for chronic and/or significant errors and report them here as well.

That's curious - I have the same problem since yesterday with the same PC make & model !

I'll step back to give the original member a chance to respond.

It's best if you start your own thread for your own problem. This OP may never come back, and talking about your problem will hijack the thread. You can monitor this one for useful information and provide assistance if you like.

Re: Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area 0x9bbaa945 ??

Fren Banklin, thanks for replying. And sorry for the long waiting time on reply.

I triede to get back into Safe-Mode, but now it cant even get there. No mather how long it stands at agpCPQ.sys.
Today i bought an external case for the hdd, to check if there were problems with it. It worked just fine, ran an check disk from my main computer on it. And a check disk with Partition Magic 8, no problems found. Also did a defrag.

Then sat it back into the laptop and startet it, i just thought for a short moment that i had fixed the problem, but again on the desktop, this time after 25sec ~" it crashed to bsod again.

Any suggestions what to do now, since i cant go and look on the device manager in safe-mode? Maybe some fixing of the OS from the external drive?

Re: Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area 0x9bbaa945 ??

----------*UPDATE*---------

I now manage to get it into safe-mode. And in the device manager, the only "hardware" problem is as following.

Non-Plug and Play Drivers
Serial
-Error code 24

and under further options it says "Root\legacy_serial\0000"

Any suggestions what that might be.?

And would it be wise to try and update to SP3?

Re: Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area 0x9bbaa945 ??

Uninstall the serial device. I doubt it's the cause of your problems.

In Safe Mode, navigate:

Start>Run>(type)"msconfig".

Hide all MS Services, and turn everything else off. Also turn off all Applications.

Then reboot.

Report results here.

Re: Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area 0x9bbaa945 ??

----------SOLVED----------

The solution is fairly simple, just uninstall eLock from acer in add/remove programs under controlpanel. If you cant remove that, just revoce Acer Empowering, or what it was called.

Either do it from safe-mode or normal startup. If you cant get into safe-mode and it just hangs at agpCPQ.sys just wait for like 20mins, if nothing happens by then. Restart and wait again, eventually it will get into safe-mode. Might take some tries.

Glad you got it fixed.

There is a tool in "Thread Tools" to mark your thread as "solved".

Re: Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area 0x9bbaa945 ??

Well JEDIXED - I wish I knew how you hit upon the idea of removing the Acer eLock program as I'd liked to have tried that.

I had the same problem occur at the same time as you suggesting perhaps a microsoft update was conflicting but as I couldn't wait and tried all the usual, I decided instead to format and start again.

Same end result but a lot more work :(

I actually really like how you used the big letters above and below the solution, so that possible future readers can quickly scan through the thread and find the post with the solution, without having to read every word.

This idea could be adopted constructively in this (and other) forums, as a means of providing people with better ideas, delivered faster.
