This is not a huge problem, but one i really need to have solved... Somewhere along the line, i lost the screen magnification that is found in the lower right corner of the taskbar. The process that allows me to magnify the screen to 125%, 150%, 200%, etc.
i need this function because i can't always see the screen clearly, and it was always a good thing to be able to up the magnification....
Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated, and kudos to you if you can get this restored.....ray:
Re: Lost Screen Magnifier Percentages in Lower Right Corner
Hi sweetrosette,
I'm assuming this is some additional software you have installed and not Windows XP Magnifier? (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > Magnifier)
Try this, right click the taskbar and choose Properties.
Go to Customise under the Notification Area.
Do you see it listed under Customise Notifications?

Wow, i found it. I had to check the "Hide Inactive Icons" for the Customize box to become "ungreyed", but when I went into Customize, i was able to find the magnification folder and I set it to Always Show. Plus, i changed a couple things that grabbed my fancy........clicked on Apply and OK.
However, this magnification thingee, which was always at the far right of the time, is still not showing. Will this fix itself when i reboot?
Thank you for taking a moment to help me.........
Re: Lost Screen Magnifier Percentages in Lower Right Corner
Ok, I just answered my own question. I rebooted and the percentage magnifier still is not showing to the right of the time.
When I clicked on "Customize", there were two sections: Current Items, and Past items. The percentage folder was in the Past Items section. Might this have anything to do with this problem?
i'm sorry i didn't answer your earlier question....:1angel:......no, this screen magnifier isn't a separate software i bought and installed.
i'm sure it popped up when i installed IE 7.0. i had been putting off installing IE 7 until recently and when i finally did, lo and behold, there was this great screen magnifier where i could change the magnification from 100% and up....
Re: Lost Screen Magnifier Percentages in Lower Right Corner
OK, i just took a real close look at the Customize section, and this is what i found:
The icon that represents my 360 Norton (that red cross is because it's telling me i need to backup and i'm not ready to do that just now), doesn't have a label stating it's 360 Norton like it did the last time i was in Customize.
Instead, it has a 100% label next to it that WAS next to another folder that represented the magnification feature.
Somehow, the two of them have combined, or mixed up, or something on that order.
i've sent a snapshot for you to see what i'm trying to say. It's the 4th one down from the top.
