[SOLVED] c:\is not a valid Win32 application
ON windows XP sp2 & also norton 2006 installed machine
While opening my computer and click c drive it says " c:\is not a valid Win32 application ".
After selecting the drive and right click the mouse it gets opened.
How to resolve this?

Have a look in your root directory and see if you have a file autorun.inf You may need to go into the DOS window and use dir/a *.inf

If that doesnt work you might wanna try a OS Repair. Just boot off a XP CD and when the first option comes up to repair type "R"-for repair.

Dear John,
It says
C:\>dir/a *.inf
Volume in drive C is IBM_PRELOAD
Directory of C:\
04/11/2007 08:57 PM 130 AUTORUN.INF

0 Dir(s) 28,051,615,744 bytes free
when i try delete this file it says file not found.

The file got deleted after removing the attributes.
After this, when i clicked the drive it's says again the same message.

It sounds as though you could be infected with the RavMon virus. I didn't want you to delete autorun.inf as I wanted to see what was in it. However, as you still have the problem check to see if autorun.inf has reappeared. If so, this time open it with notepad and look at the contents. Also, run scans with your antivirus program and SpyBot and AdAware.

restarted the maching after deleting the file.
