I found a virus on my pen drive, so I started the task manager and started looking for the suspicious processes. I thought it was lsass.exe. So I tried to end this process. But it didn't end. I searched the net and found that it is a trojan and it is present in system32 of the windows folder.
I rebooted and now I started windows7 and I went on to look for the lsass.exe in the windows xp drive and deleted it. Later on I scanned the windows xp drive and deleted all the viruses.
On further research I found that the lsass.exe is an essential process and it is virus only if it is present in any other place than system32. Now when I start windows xp I get a black screen after the windows xp logo.
I tried to work out the solution by copying the lsass.exe from Windows Vista to Windows xp but it didn't work. Please tell me where can I find the lsass.exe for the windows xp ,do I need to repair or format?:sigh:
