Setupdd.Sys does not load, Error Code 32768
Hello,
I woke up this morning and turned my computer on.
a few hours later, I noticed my Mcafee Security Center was not working, so I decided to restart my computer.
After restarting my computer, I came up with a notice saying my computer had some files that were missing, corrupt, or could not be read.
Since my reformatting disk is integrated into my computer (Windows Xp Home edition 1100 or 7100, looks more like 1100) I decided to reformat my computer
However, when I reformatted my computer, I get this notice before it even starts to reformat my computer:
"Setupdd.sys does not load, Error Code 32768"
Also, a few days before, my computer crashed due to a system32/config/system error, if that helps.
Thanks for your Help,
Nibcake.

Re: Setupdd.Sys does not load, Error Code 32768
Are you restoring from a Restore Partition? not a Restore Disc (CD)? If it is a CD then CD may be scratched or damaged. You can purchase one from your Computer Manufacturer. If you are Formatting from a Restore Partition then the hard drive may be damaged and need to be replaced. See if you can boot into Safe Mode and get to Start/Run and type CMD and hit enter. In the Command Prompt type chkdsk /f/r and hit enter. then a Y and reboot the computer. The Check Disk Utility will try and fix any errors on the drive.

Ok, boot into the Bios, and make sure the Hard Drive is being recognized. Reset the Boot order for CD rom to be first boot device Choose F10 to save. And put in Restore CD and boot off of that hit any key to boot from CD

Edit: Actually,
If the reformatting program is integrated within my computer, does that mean it's a partition or cd? Since I heard from my dad that it's a cd.

Restart the computer you should see a message on the black screen to hit this key to Enter Setup (this key could be Del, F1,F2 or F10 depending on your make and model of computer) http://michaelstevenstech.com/bios_manufacturer.htm

Yeah, I found out what that is.
If the reformatting program is integrated within my computer, does that mean it's a partition or cd? Since I heard from my dad that it's a cd, but I'm not sure what it is exactly.

Also, I switched the order of the boot sequence, but whenever I load my computer, it goes straight to attempting to reformat my computer.

Re: Setupdd.Sys does not load, Error Code 32768
Ok, if you are putting a CD in and you are booting off of the CD then hmmm that would be the CD. If you are pressing the F11 key and it is starting the Restore operation and you don't have a CD in the drive.................. then it's the Restore Partition. Capiche?

Your HDD may be failing. Download the Diagnostic Disc for your Hard Drive Manufacturer here and run the Diagnostic Tests.

Re: Setupdd.Sys does not load, Error Code 32768
Two questions.
1. If i have a dell, should I use just use seagate?
2. How can I use it if my computer can't even get to the user selection screen?
