This morning, when starting my computer, I got a "......entry point could not be found.RPCRT4.dll " message. I enter the safe mode, and the screen stays black--what to do? I can't log on to Windows at all. Thanks.
Boot into Safe Mode. If the Desktop is black, hit CTRl+Alt+Del and choose the Task Manager. In Task Manager Go up to File/New Task (Run) and type in SFC scannow. The Windows File Protection Window pops up. You may need your Windows XP CD for this. The System File Checker will restore any files it needs from the disc.
