Right justify a directory path so target shows

The one thing I absolutely hate about Windows XP is that the "target" of a long directory path never shows in a field when I want to access a file. For example if this was the entire directory path: "C:\User1\Documents\2008_Activity\Johnson_Correspondence\Smith_Project\August_Progress_Report.doc, a user will probably only see something like: "C:\User1\Documents\2008_Acti" until he scrolls right. If Windows XP isn't going to let me see the entire directory path because the field isn't wide enough, then I would prefer to see the "target" file at the end of the path without having to scroll. In other words, I would prefer to see "gust_Progress_Report.doc" Is there anyway to make Windows XP do this? I hope I've used the word "justify" correctly. Thanks for any answers.
