Hi,
I have to restart my computer several times before it will actually start.
I hit the power button, the red LED comes on, the green LED does not come on, the fans come on, the CD drive light flash on and off, sounds like hard drives come on, but not sure.
I have to wait 10 seconds.
Then I push and hold the power button untill it shuts off, wait 5 seconds, push power button again.
Repeat this several times, then the green LED comes on and computer boots
normally.

If I just use the reset button, it won't come on.
If I shut the computer off and turn it back on within a few minutes, it will comes on normally.
Computer works great and never crashes. I run video, CAD, CS3.

Home build several years ago.
XP Home SP3, all updates, AMD XP2 3000, 2mb ram over 1 TB hard drives, 512 mb graphics (ATI (Sapphire) X1650), ECS K7VTA3 6.0c Motherboard
I have done an upgrade reinstall.
Seagate drives, about a year old. I also did a full test anyway.

It works, but I'm concerned one day it may not start at all.

Thanks in advance, Duane

What brand power supply, and wattage does your computer have.
Are there any errors in the event viewer, when your computer finally does boot up.
right click My Computer > Manage > click the + next to event viewer

Thanks for responding,

I have an ANTEC 650 watt power supply. About 6 months old.

I cleared the event view logs, then shut it off overnight and restart in AM.
There were errors, but only seem to deal with connecting to network and usb drives. Just delay errors when booting.

I saved the logs as .evt files. I will upload them, but what do you open them with.

Thanks, Duane
