Recording sound from Audacity

Hello guys!

Not sure where to post this, but I post it in here.

Im trying to record a sound file from the Internet directly with Audacity, but fails. I have Stereo Mix on and tried to experiment with Windows Sound options but still nothing works. Even checked the preferences from Edit.
Any ideas?

Re: Recording sound from Audacity

Recording with Audacity is straight forward normally. You could reinstall it.
That is the first thing I would do. Can you record with Windows Sound Recorder?

Re: Recording sound from Audacity

You can't save the file first, and then import it ?

Re: Recording sound from Audacity

Hello

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I have already checked this site: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help...ng&i=streaming

But it also says there: "If this doesn't work on your computer, you can instead use a cable to connect your computer's “Line Out” (speaker) port to its “Line In” port, and use Audacity to record from Line In". Im not sure how to do that.

And i even have tried out Windows soundrecorder and it didnt work. Im trying to reinstall it then. Or get an older version?

Re: Recording sound from Audacity

Nope. It seems it doesn't work at school either.
