My System

Truthfully, there's probably not much you can change that will make a realistic effect.

Open Task Manager, select the cpu usage graph, and just sit back and watch. Unless your system is very unusual, you'll notice that your CPU usage is only a couple of percent at most. That's the savings you'll realize at a maximum...

o ok well then what is making my computer run so slow? and how can i improve its performance. It takes very long to open things. When i hit the start button, it takes about 10-15 seconds to open. The PC is not a top of the line PC but it should open fairly quickley because it isnt even half way full. it has about 30% usage.

30% usage is pretty high actually. An idle PC should be around 0-5% with an occasional spike. Let me go over the list and see what might cause that.

To speed this up, if it already shows you what's taking up process's then post here, which ones are the highest.

That all looks normal. There are so many process's because most are just background windows noise.

Try and clean out your temp files in c:\windows

If that gets to full sometimes it can cause some lag like that.
