Problem with hanging

Hi,

I bought a new system with the following config

AMD Phenom x4
ASUS M3A78-EM

my system hangs when i scan with avg free 8.Some times it gets restarted automatically when i scan.Is this due to any virus.Also when i connect to internet im able to browse only for 5 minutes.then im not able to acess even google.
