Printer install problem on Windows XP

Have an interesting (and at the same time very frustrating) problem I've been dealing with.

Trying to install a Panasonic DP -C401 printer/scanner/copier. All but the printing function installed. When trying to install the printer, I get the following message:

The software you are installing for this hardware: Printer has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windowws XP. The hardware will not be installed.

The aggravation is that only two installs are giving me this problem. Others have gone as expected. I have installed the printer numerous times on the same type hardware; a Gateway E series desktop and a Gateway 685 laptop.

I have no idea why this is happening on just these two machines. Is there a place in the registry where something could be changed to allow this install? Other solution?

The OS on both machines is XP pro, SP2.

All help MOST appreciated -

FK

Under Unsigned Driver Installation Behaviour, which you'll find in

\Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Local Security Policy\

where it's shown under

\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\

which option do you have selected? Ideally, it should be set to Warn But Allow Installation.

Maybe I missed with my answer but did you try to check if you blocked unsigned drivers installation... Maybe because of that you can not install drivers for printer.
Go 'Windows button' + 'Pause' button, go to Hardware tab, drivers signing part and decheck if you blocked unsigned drivers from installing...
