This problem is widely posted on the web, where the PC has no audio because it shows up under Device Manager that the Plug n Play Software Device Enumerator is not working properly (it has a yellow exclamation sign next to it), even though the audio devices are showing up properly under the Audio device manager.
So I follow the typical instructions to uninstall and re-install drivers and it still doesn't work, and the new device is showing up as a printer, when it's not.
Funny thing is, when I turn on the TV tuner card, I get audio from the sound card, so I know it's not a hardware issue, but when I try to play audio from Youtube or something web-based or media player, there is no sound.
Can anyone help? Should I try to run a repair or will I need to re-install the OS? I'm thinking I might as well go to Windows 7.
