I have a facebook page that seems all scrambled when I open any of my browsers on my desktop, while when I open that same page in another computer, it's as it should be.
I deleted history and cookies in all my browsers, but it did not correct the problem.
I even restored my computer to the day before this problem started, thinking that something must have changed in my computer, no result, always scrambled page.
Anyone has any idea of what could be the problem? can it have anything to do with the Javascript?
Please help cause I'm getting obsessed with this problem, and I need to solve it.

Hello cricri29

Can you describe the problem a bit better please.
What exactly is wrong?

In the meantime check these settings

1. Control Panel/Accessibility Options/Display
Make sure High Contrast/Resolution is not checked

2. 2. IE/Tools/Internet Options/General/Colours
Make sure "Use Windows Colours" is checked

3.Same General Tab in IE.
Click Accessibility
Nothing should be checked here

You might have to reboot for changes to work

Hi, thank you for answering so quickly.
The problem is that when I open my facebook page, on my desktop, through any browser, it is all scrambled, the font is huge, the information that used to be across the page from left to right, is now following each other, on the left side of the page, packed on top of each other, with a lot of colours, with absolutely nothing on the middle or right side.
When I open this same facebook page in another computer or my laptop, everything is correct and it's the classic normal view of facebook.
Actually I tried to open the facebook page of my husband on my desktop, and it was all scrambled too.
Actually, this facebook is the only page that is scrambled, otherwise all the pages I visit on my computer are absolutely correct and normal.
I will check what you suggested I do, when I get home this evening.
Thank you again

In the facebook page, I get this message: "Javascript is disabled on your browser". Maybe this is the problem, but if it's true, how come all other pages in my browser work correctly??
Thank you in advance for you help.

I already deleted all temp internet files and cookies.
I am going to try something that I found in another thread, that suggests IEFix Utility, do you think this can work?

Well, it is certainly worth trying.

The fix will register IEs dll files among other things

I don`t know what the problem can be, but I found people posting all over the internet with this problem only in Facebook.

Just check these settings, but they should be OK if all other sites with Java are working properly

Open IE/Tools
Do you see Sun Java Console in the menu which pops out?

If “No” you need to install Java again

If it is there check this
In that pop out menu hover over “Manage add-ons”
Click “Enable or Disable add-ons”
Look for Sun Java and click it. Does it say “Enabled” at the bottom?

Also
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced
Scroll down and look for Java
Is it checked?

Yes, it's a strange situation that all pages, in all browsers (IE, Opera, Mozilla) work properly, and that in all these browsers facebook does not, while on other computers it's fine!!!
Anyway, thank you for your suggestion, I will try it when I get home this afternoon and let you know.
Thanks again

I have never used Facebook

Does it not have a Help forum or help pages?

If it does run a search for Java and see if anything turns up

Yes, you can send a email to the people of facebook, which I did, and they sent me a message saying that it is probably a cookie, that I should delete all cookies and history pages etc. which I did but didn't solve the problem.
Now, I downloaded toolbarcop, and copied everything it came up with, I don't know if this can help, as I don't understand a word of it:

OK, what that tells me is that you have an awful lot of Browser Extensions, Toolbars and items running at startup which are not needed. I would not be surprised if one of them was causing the problem.

Where to start?

I think we will stop all unnecessary items running at startup because this is a good thing to do anyway. It will speed up your boot time
Start/Run and type in
msconfig
OK

Startup Tab
Keep the page open then go to one of the links below. They will tell you what all the entries are and whether you can disable them or not. They will also identify any malware. Disable everything which is not needed to run at start up. I only have 4 or 5 entries here

http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php

http://www.castlecops.com/StartupList.html

Read the Key at top of page. Use the Search box to check all your entries

When you reboot you will get a message saying you have started in "Selective Startup" Click "Don`t show this message again" then OK

Check if problem fixed, but I think it is more likely to be one of the others.

Next
You have quite a few Toolbars. Uninstall them one at a time and check after each one to see if the problem is fixed. All these Toolbars often mess up your system.

We still have the browser extensions to try, but leave that till later

Hope one of these fixes it
