Confused

I am a bit confused with the error I am getting while I boot up my PC. The error I am getting is as follows: Alert! Chipset heat sink not detected.
System halted.

What is causing this? How to solve it? It had no problems previously by the way. The operating system is xp service pack 1

The fan on the Motherboard Chipset is either disconnected or has failed to start for some reason. Have there been any recent hardware changes?

No. I have not made any hardware changes. I will check the fan and see what happens.
