I'm having a problem on a system running Win XP Home that has a system partition (c and a recovery partition (d. Something happened to the windows partition and the machine will not boot. At first the option to run the recovery at boot by pressing F11 was available, but I tried to fix the MBR on the system partition using the recovery console from the windows disc. FIXMBR and FIXBOOT did not fix the boot problem...so I need to restore the O.S., but now that used those tools to try to fix the problem, the F11 recovery option is not available anymore. Is there ANYTHING i can do get the system to offer the recovery option of Windows...by using the F11 built in recovery partition...because now it doesn't even flash that option anymore (and it only gives you a couple of seconds to hit F11 anyway...but now nothing). If anybody has any ideas or solutions, I could totally use one about now. Thanks.
